“Infectious”, has been described as a characteristic of Mikeytown, with his charismatic uplifting energy, when he shares his soul behind the ones and twos of a DJ booth. As of late, alongside partners Cris Herrera and DJ Ala, he has been creating and achieving landmark events of SOULEIL- in its 11th year (2021), a weekly daytime event that has been reaching an “Illustrious” status worldwide, as one of the premier places for DJ’s to play in Southern California.
Mikey has been a staple in the Deep House community in San Diego, seen grooving both on the dance floor and in the DJ booth playing alongside such notables Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Alix Alvarez, Lisa Shaw, Tortured Soul, Hallex M., and many more at DIVE; one of the SD’s longest event dedicated to the Deep and Soulful side of House Music.
His musical journey started behind the decks in the late 80’s and early 90’s, spinnin’ musical genres of Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall Reggae, and Freestyle. His love for different flavors of sound created a distinct style that has led Mikey memorable, breathtaking travel around the world, that include the annual destinations of the Mi Casa Holiday, WMC in Miami, appearances in New York City at the FUNK BOX & I’LL HOUSE YOU, and tours in Australia & Hong Kong, just name a few. Mikey envisions many more “Soul Sharing Sessions” created in the DJ Booth, embracing the progressive rumination of the dancefloors of where his journey ambitions may transcend.
