In 1983, Al-Ski Love walked into his first (teen) nightclub. He saw MTV playing in one room, a DJ spinning in the main room, and another DJ spinning in a room that would occasionally open for breakdancing. By the next year, he had started blending dance records and scratching rap records. He played a few gigs out, then in the late ’80s became the resident DJ in the main room of a multi-room club. He also co-hosted a dance music show on NCSU’s radio station, WKNC 88.1. He was further inspired by attending a DJ battle at the New Music Seminar in NYC.

Al-Ski Love has performed at clubs and mobile events throughout the years. In 2010, he developed a niche in Video DJ’ing which allows for creative manipulation of visuals that are cohesive with the music he is spinning. This niche even led to the opportunity to perform for the White House (President Obama era). After playing a variety of events over the years, Al-Ski Love has returned to his love of the genres of music that sparked his interest in the art of DJ’ing.
