Freddie Livingston has been involved in the dance music scene for the last two decades. He brings a dynamic approach to music to every type of event with a deep understanding of how every nuance contributes to the whole event.
Having grown up on his parent’s eclectic combination of funk music (James Brown), and soulful sounds of artists such as Anita Baker, Gladys Night, and Betty Wright. All of these artists became infused with his love for dance music, Freddie’s ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence.
Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful soulful vocals, ethereal synths… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat. “For me, it’s all about the music… Embrace sounds that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style, or release date.”
Deeply rooted in North Carolina’s electronic music scene, Durham-based DJ and producer Treee City is a founding member of Durham’s Party Illegal soundsystem and has released on labels Raund Haus and Maison Fauna. He has performed at festivals like Moogfest, Hopscotch, and Slingshot.
