Jorge Rico was born and raised in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. Fascinated by music from a very young age, he became influenced by his father who had a collection of ’50s and ’60s LP’s. He started buying vinyl very young, then in high school playing for friends’ parties and school parties back in the late ’80s, going between a tape deck and turntable from a stereo system.
When he was 18 a new bar “Papas & Beer” opened and quickly, landed his first residency as a DJ, and also in Rosarito Beach for Papas & Beer during the summer before moving to San Diego. After taking a long break (Family), in 2006 he got back to Dj. He started @ Ole Madrid and later, he held a residence at Ventanas Club, in Downtown San Diego. Later landed a residency at the W Hotel in Downtown San Diego, playing on their first New Year’s Party. He has been spinning in small venues and large events in Mexico as well as Southern California. In Sep. 2005 he and his friends put together a float for Love Parade in San Francisco, CA with over 250 DJs from all over the globe. With 65,000 people in attendence, there he shared the stage with Randall Jones (Mynt Music), Eduardo Topete of I O S (SD) and We Are One (SD).
After a long break back in 2016, he was invited for the first time by his friend Cris Herrera to play with the Souleil crew for their Toy-Drive party at Gossip Grill. In summer 2017, he return to play at Soulei Summer Sessions for 2 different dates. Then later that summer was invited by friend Mathew Brian to play for House Music Fridays at the A/C Lounge. Currently, he is working on a couple of studio production projects with his friend Jesusdapnk and will have a few tracks coming out in the near future.
